Taking coaching to the next level
We believe that our professional, business focused approach and customer service ethic single us out from the competition. In addition, we offer specific, value-added coaching options that most of our competitors do not. These Include:
o Unlimited access coaching
o Group coaching
o Supporting organisations in installing a leadership coaching culture
Unlimited access coaching
Imagine a business coach who meets with you as often as you want for as long as you want. Now imagine that you also have unlimited telephone and e-mail access to that same coach, a coach who has years of experience coaching and developing businessmen and women from Managing Director level down.
We know that, with the current climate, your key people need expert support and challenge to keep them at the top of their game. We know there has never been a greater need for such an intensive, on-demand approach to executive coaching that really delivers results. Listening to what our clients ask of us, Inspire Ltd is one of the few professional consulting organisations to offer such a service.
Group coaching
One factor which strongly distinguishes us from our competitors is our experience and expertise in group coaching. Not only are there strong economic advantages to such an approach, we also believe that individuals learn best when working in collaboration with each other.
Where possible, this means pulling together groups with common development needs and providing them with skilled facilitation to ensure the delivery of both personal and organisational benefits. A skilled facilitator would typically take participants through the following stages:
o Diagnosis / assessment / feedback
o Drafting a Personal Development Plan
o Contracting with key stakeholders
o Implementation of development activities in the context of group support and challenge
o Collective business challenges
o Delivery of payback to stakeholders
o Re-contracting
This approach is strongly based on Kolb’s learning cycle. It assumes that in order to learn people must first take action. Subsequently, they need to reflect on what they have done, come to clear conclusions about what works and what doesn’t within a specific context and then be prepared to do something different in order to apply and test this learning.
The focus then is on active, business related learning. This means taking advantage of learning opportunities that already exist within the business, but learning from them in a mindful way.
Supporting organisations in installing a leadership coaching culture
We are also experienced in training leaders to coach as part of a methodology for installing a leadership coaching culture. This tends to work best as a cascade process where senior executives first have experience of being coached, before themselves being trained as coaches.
For example, we are currently discussing with a heavy engineering company, at their request, a simple coaching cascade process where we are primarily involved in the training and coaching of 8 to 10 senior managers and in the design of the overall process. These senior managers will in turn coach middle managers, who will subsequently coach supervisors, and these supervisors will go on to coach team members. The process is designed such that, after our initial intensive involvement with the senior managers, the programme will be largely self sustaining. In the later stages of the programme, we will simply run introductory and skills based workshops at each level and support the business to ensure that a proper management and administration process is in place to underpin the success of the process. In our experience, implementation of a light but systematic administration and evaluation process is critical to the success of such a process.
